Elise Boulanger: Saturday, July 24, 2021, 3:00-4:00 PM

Launching this series is local Chamber-Folk-Pop artist Elise Boulanger who is performing on Saturday, July 24, 2021 from 3:00 to 4:00 pm at Departure Bay Beach near Kin Hut. Prepared to be captivated! Boulanger will be accompanied by her band, and who will create a cinematic dreamscape surrounded by nature. Following the influence of artists like Regina Spektor, Franz Schubert and Radiohead, Boulanger will offer melodic, percussive and inclusive music. Her reputation as “one [who is] ready to make a very big impression on the world at large,” makes this an event not to be missed.

Twin Fiddles with Cross Canada Fiddle: Tuesday, August 3, 4:30-5:30 PM

Bring a blanket or chair and join us, rain or shine, for a free live music event. Twin Fiddles is Saskatoon-based fiddle player JJ Guy along with Order of Canada recipient Gordon Stobbe of Seaforth, NS. They present a highly entertaining and varied show that draws on fiddle traditions from around the world. This summer they are joined on stage by Nanaimo’s own Geoff and Trish Horrocks of Cross Canada Fiddle.

Alexandra Lee & Erin Lawson: Tuesday, August 17, 6:00-7:00 PM

Come with your walking shoes and explore the trail and boardwalk at Richards Marsh Park and enjoy this live music event. Live cello performance by Alexandra Lee and vocals by Erin Lawson in the heart of Richards Marsh. Their music and voice will float and resonate in the space. Inseparable pals since childhood, cellist Alexandra Lee and mezzo-soprano Erin Lawson first started performing together as teens. After years of living an airplane ride away, fate and chance found Lee and Lawson living in the same town - Nanaimo! This is their first concert together in many years. Alexandra Lee is cello instructor at the Nanaimo Conservatory of Music and Associate Principal Cellist with the Vancouver Island Symphony. Erin Lawson is a new member of the faculty of the Nanaimo Conservatory of Music, opening her voice studio to students of all ages and levels.

Theo Massop: Tuesday, August 24, 2021, 6:00-7:00 PM

Bring a blanket or chair and join us, rain or shine, for a free live music event ​with ​​Theo Massop. Performing near the washroom building, Theo draws from the styles of acts such as Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen and Steve Earle. He shakes up this musical approach with flavours of reggae, blues, folk, country and straight ahead rock, all performed without pretension and from the heart.
