Mar 16, 2018, 15:27 PM

Parking-Bylaw-ReviewThe City of Nanaimo is replacing the existing Parking Bylaw (also known as, "Development Parking Regulations Bylaw 2005 No. 7013") with an updated one.

The bylaw regulates off-street parking including the number of parking spaces required for different land uses (eg. residential, commercial) along with the size and design of parking areas. The new bylaw's purpose is to have a community that is more walkable and better reflects the objectives of the City’s Official Community Plan and Transportation Master Plan along with current best practices.

An Open House was help on April 3, 2018 to hear residents' thoughts on the new bylaw. For those who couldn't attend, an online survey was available to provide feedback. the survey closed on April 15, 2018.
