The City of Nanaimo is replacing the existing Parking Bylaw (also known as, "Development Parking Regulations Bylaw 2005 No. 7013") with an updated one.
The bylaw regulates off-street parking including the number of parking spaces required for different land uses (eg. residential, commercial) along with the size and design of parking areas. The new bylaw's purpose is to have a community that is more walkable and better reflects the objectives of the City’s Official Community Plan and Transportation Master Plan along with current best practices.
