The Public Safety Committee, City staff and representatives from other stakeholder groups held an engagement session on February 28, 2018 to discuss resident concerns and gather input on important issues that affect our community. Pam Shaw, Director of the Master of Community Planning Program at Vancouver Island University along with her students will facilitated a World Cafe-style format where each table featured a different topic for discussion.
Topics included:
- City Bylaws
- Emergency Management
- Future of the Community Policing and Services Office
- RCMP Priorities
- Public Safety Education
- Home Safety
- Empty and Derelict Buildings
- Public Disorder
Goals of the evening were to determine priorities for the Public Safety Committee to focus on for 2018, future uses of the Community Policing and Service Office and address any concerns from the community.
