Heritage Building Renovations and Alterations

Are you planning a renovation or alteration to your heritage building?  Heritage buildings listed in the Downtown Heritage Conservation Area (HCA) contained within the City’s Official Community Plan (OCP) will require a Heritage Alteration Permit for non-cosmetic alterations made to the building’s exterior (for example, building additions, building demolition, or significant alterations requiring a building permit).

Where a Heritage Alteration Permit is required in the HCA, the following conservation guidelines will apply:
