The Event Grant Funding Program supports events and initiatives which attract residents and visitors to the Downtown, support the vibrancy of the Downtown, and stimulate business activity.
Funds can be used to assist with the costs of staging annual, festive, outdoor public events in Downtown Nanaimo. The intention of the grant is to recognize the value annual events have in building vitality in the Downtown and enhancing Nanaimo’s profile as a destination of choice. The grants serve as an incentive to event organizers to enhance, expand and improve their events.
Intake for 2017 applications has closed.
Important Note: Applicants who have received funding in previous years MUST provide a complete a Downtown Event Grant Final Report (PDF) within 90 days of completion of the organization’s event OR before a new funding request is submitted for consideration. Failure to provide a final report will result in the rejection of new applications.
