Point-in-Time Counts

The Nanaimo Homelessness Coalition has conducted a number of censuses of homeless individuals, most recently in April 2018. Information was gathered on individuals' gender, age, ethnicity, observed health issues, family status, sources of income and length of residency in Nanaimo. For the purposes of the censuses, homeless individuals were defined as those who did not have a permanent residence they could return to whenever they chose.

The next Point-in-Time Count is scheduled to take place in 2020.
