Nanaimo Homeless Coalition

The Nanaimo Homeless Coalition brings together non-profit organizations, governments and concerned citizens to create a united front dedicated to ending homelessness. Together, the members of the Coalition address the many challenges causing homelessness
in Nanaimo.
Last fall, the Coalition developed Nanaimo’s Strategy to End Homelessness, which was approved and endorsed by the City of Nanaimo. Going forward the Coalition will work with the City’s newly formed Health and Housing Taskforce to implement
this strategy.
The Nanaimo Homeless Coalition makes recommendations to United Way Central & Northern Vancouver Island, which acts as the liaison for Federal investments through Reaching Home. Reaching Home funds are provided to organizations and investments with
the aim to end homelessness.
The Nanaimo Homeless Coalition offers guidance and direction on the delivery of services for our at-risk residents. The Coalition believes that by bringing together the many organizations that work address homelessness, their approach will be more cohesive
and impactful. There is strength in working together.
