Late Night Fire Displaces Tenant

Summary

Nanaimo Fire Rescue responded to a late night fire on Strickland Street that displaced one tenant. The fire caused damage to the lower suite's kitchen area. When crews arrived, there was no evidence of smoke alarms working. RCMP and BC Ambulance were on scene. Emergency Social Services provided temporary accommodation for the displaced resident.
