Colliery Dams Update

Summary

The public/worker safety zone currently surrounding the area where construction crews are building an auxiliary spillway in Colliery Dams Park has been reduced in size. This is the third time boundaries marking the zone have been pulled back since work in the park began September 15. A revised map providing boundary details is available on the City's website. Park users are reminded that a portion of the trail leading around the lower lake remains closed while construction is underway.

Key Points

  • To ensure public safety, park users are reminded not to enter areas of the park that are fenced off.
  • Members of the public seeking previous information updates concerning the Colliery Dams are encouraged to visit the Colliery Dams Information page located on the City's website.

Quotes

"As this area remains an active construction site, it is very important for park users to follow the direction of the on site safety people and to observe signage posted."
