Linley Valley West - Neighbourhood Access Options Consultation

Open House at Oliver Woods Community Centre planned for Thursday October 8th

Summary

The City of Nanaimo is seeking public input on access options to Linley Valley West, a new neighbourhood currently being developed in Linley Valley between Rutherford Road and the new Linley Valley Park. Due to recent changes to land use, parks and transportation a new multi-modal access plan is being developed for this growing neighbourhood.

Two access options are being considered; a new road linking Linley Valley Drive and Rutherford Road at Nelson Rd or utilizing existing neighbourhood streets to link to Rutherford at Vanderneuk Rd and Brookwood Dr.

An open house on this project will be held at Oliver Woods Community Centre on Thursday October 8th from 4:30 to 7:00PM. City staff will be present to answer your questions and receive feedback on the proposed access options. Feedback from this event will be used to help identify a preferred access option.

Link to Strategic Plan: The development of access for all modes of transportation within neighbourhoods is a goal of the Nanaimo Transportation Master Plan.
