Nominate your neighbour who's a water saver

City encourages residents to recognize "Water Champions"

Summary

To continue raising public awareness about reducing water consumption during this drought, Team WaterSmart is calling on residents to nominate a neighbour they think deserves a special nod for their water conservation efforts.

From July 13 to August 31, the City will be taking nominations from Nanaimo residents who think their neighbour is doing a great job of saving water outdoors. Such activities could be letting the lawn go golden, planting drought tolerant or native plants and reusing water. The same contest is also taking place within the Regional District of Nanaimo' water service areas.

A winner will be drawn weekly and prizes will include a Parks, Recreation and Environment gift card and a rubber ducky trophy. All nominees will receive a yard sign recognizing their efforts to conserve water.
