Colliery Dams update

Summary

On June 22, Council passed a motion to write to the Comptroller of Water Rights regarding an alternate course of action to remediate the Colliery Dams. On June 24, the City received a letter from the lawyer representing the Comptroller denying the alternate course of action proposed by the City.

The City’s application to the Environmental Appeal Board (EAB) for a stay of the Comptroller’s Order is being considered by the EAB. It is expected a decision of the EAB will be received in the next one to two weeks.
