The City of Nanaimo's Culture and Heritage Department wants you to PARK it here on Friday, September 19 for the 2014 PARK(ing) Day. An annual open-source global event, Nanaimo's 2014 PARK(ing) Day will be held along Commercial Street from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm, as participants transform a select number of parking spaces into temporary, short-term mini parks. Participants include Coastal Community Credit Union, Vancouver Island University, Vancouver Island Regional Library, Mid Island Metis Nation, and the Department of Parks, Recreation & Environment. Everyone is welcome to attend.
