Bastion Bridge set to close to traffic beginning May 21

Bridge expected to be closed for six weeks

Summary

Downtown Nanaimo drivers can expect changes to their commutes downtown as work continues on the Bastion Street bridge renewal and seismic retrofit project. The bridge will close to traffic for approximately six weeks beginning Tuesday, May 21 as crews replace the concrete deck.

The bridge closure will affect RDN Transit operations. On April 8, the transit exchange was relocated to Front Street, at Port Place Mall for the time being.
