Summary

The nomination period has ended and the Chief Election Officer has declared the candidates for the 2018 municipal election. Four candidates have been declared for the position of mayor and forty candidates have been declared for the position of councillor. The deadline for candidates to withdraw is 4:00 pm, Friday, September 21, 2018.

On Saturday, October 20, 2018, electors in the City of Nanaimo will elect one mayor and eight councillors. Two advance polls will be held at Bowen Park Auditorium from 8 am to 8 pm on Wednesday, October 10 and Wednesday, October 17, 2018. General Voting Day is Saturday, October 20, 2018, and there will be twelve voting locations throughout Nanaimo where eligible electors can cast their ballot.
