Summer 2018 Free Family Events

Summary

City of Nanaimo Parks and Recreation invites families to "take a moment" this summer and participate in the free programs being offered.

The Summer Playground Program will run from July 4 - August 29 and is designed for children between the ages of 5 - 12 years old to participate with their parents. This program, consisting of music, crafts, games and sports, will run Monday through Friday in six of Nanaimo's parks and is fun for the whole family. Leaders are on site at each park on specific week days between 10 am and 3:30 pm.

There are two more Family Fun Nights planned. These evenings are designed for families who are looking to enjoy games, music, bouncy castle fun, food, face painting, crafts and much more.

The Concerts in the Park series kicks off this week with lunchtime and evening performances in Maffeo Sutton Park and at the Bowen Park Amphitheatre. There are 17 different entertainers to watch offering a variety of music styles to choose from.
