Sort Toss Roll - A Closer Look Instructional Video

The City of Nanaimo has created a video to compliment the Sort Toss Roll Guide

Sort Toss Roll, the City of Nanaimo's new automated garbage, recycling and organics collection service, is underway in central Nanaimo. Throughout October, residents have been receiving their new carts along with a Sort Toss Roll Instructional Guide. To compliment the guide and offer residents another way to learn how to use their carts, a new instructional video has been posted, offering a comprehensive look at the program. A link to this video is available in the online version of this news release.

“The implementation of phase one of the Sort Toss Roll project has gone well," says Charlotte Davis, Manager of Sanitation and Recycling. "Residents are starting to use their new carts and roll them to the curb for collection. Phase two, for north and south Nanaimo will begin next May/June."

Video has been a big part of the introduction to Sort Toss Roll. City of Nanaimo videos are typically posted on Facebook, Twitter and Youtube. Residents are encouraged to view them on any of the City's social media channels. On Facebook, search for 'City of Nanaimo Local Government,' on Twitter and Youtube search for 'CityofNanaimo' and on Instagram @nanaimoparksandrec. Many videos can also be found at www.Nanaimo.ca as a part of various news and announcements, and some can be seen on Shaw TV's 'Community Producers' program (channel 4).

“I hope residents take the time to watch the new videos," says Charlotte. "They were developed to explain some important points that we need residents to follow including correct cart placement and upsizing. Stay tuned for more videos that will feature items including proper waste sorting.”
