New playing court provides opportunity to learn a new sport

Beaufort multipurpose court gets a makeover

Summary

The public is invited to attend the grand opening of the Beaufort multi-use court Saturday, August 19. The official opening ceremony will take place at 9 am. Between 10 - 3 pm, the Nanaimo Pickelball Club is offering an introduction to the sport of pickleball with free lessons.

Beaufort Park includes walking trails, a year-round dog off leash area and now, a new multi-use court! The needed upgrades to the playing surface resulted in six new pickleball courts. The surface will also be able to accommodate other sports, such as basketball and hockey nets in the winter.
