City adds to its parks system

Portion of water district lands designated as parkland

Summary

After a reconsideration at its July 24, 2017 meeting, Council approved a portion of the Greater Nanaimo Water District Lands located along Nanaimo Lakes Road to be designated as Parks and Open Space. The lands, located at 801 and 1150 Nanaimo Lakes Road border Colliery Dam Park.

Options for future uses of the remaining portions of the Greater Nanaimo Water District Lands will be explored and taken to the public for their input.
