The City of Nanaimo Real Estate Section is responsible for:

  • administering the City’s land assets.
  • helping to deliver Council’s Strategic Plan by acquiring land for City projects, this may include the acquisition of land for new roads, parks, recreation facilities, City buildings or redevelopment of brownfield sites.
  • providing strategic advice on how best to manage the City’s land assets.
  • coordinating the sale and disposition of surplus lands.
  • providing property management services through the preparation of lease and licence documents.
  • working as a liaison with property owners to ensure private property is restored to the owners satisfaction following the completion of a construction project.
  • administration of City charges on private property and securing rights of way for private utilities.
