    MyBills

Introduced in April 2012, MyBills gives MyCity users the option to receive electronic (email) copies of their City of Nanaimo User Rate and Property Tax notices. Each time a bill is available for viewing/payment, users receive a notification email to the address in which they have registered for MyCity, with the bill attached.

You must have a MyCity account to have your bills delivered by email. Please see the instructions above or view this PDF to have everything explained.

    User Rates MyBills account registration:

The choice to sign up for MyBills will not affect our existing billing schedule and all property owners can still expect their User Rates bill to arrive 3 times per year (approximately every 4 months).

All MyCity users with a User Rates account registered to their profile may sign up for MyBills by following the steps below:

    1. Login to your MyCity profile at mycity.nanaimo.ca
    2. Double-click on your User Rates account number (if you own multiple properties, each will have to be changed separately)
    3. Click on the "MyBills" tab on the left side of the page
    4. Choose if you wish to receive your bills by email or paper only (currently defaults to paper)
    5. Click "change" to save your choice

    Property Tax MyBills account registration:

The City of Nanaimo can now send property tax notices by email. This means that as soon as the tax notices are approved in late May of each year, you will see it delivered in your email inbox.

All MyCity users with a property tax account registered to their profile may sign up for MyBills by following the steps below:

    1. Login to your MyCity profile at mycity.nanaimo.ca
    2. Double-click on your Property tax folio number (if you own multiple properties, each will have to be changed separately)
    3. Click on the "MyBills" tab on the left side of the page
    4. Choose if you wish to receive your bills by email or paper only (currently defaults to paper)
    5. Click "change" to save your choice

Please note that each owner on title with a separate mailing address has the ability to change their delivery method. For example, if a husband and wife reside at a property and one of them signs up for MyBills, then that is the only way they will receive a tax notice from the City of Nanaimo. If there is also a sister on title to that property, she will still her receive her tax notice by regular mail unless she changes her delivery method within her MyCity account as well.

If you change your email address it is your responsibility to ensure that your MyCity account reflects the change. Any penalties applied to your tax account for not receiving the notice by email will not be waived, no exceptions.
