Engineering Infrastructure Group
The Infrastructure Group is responsible for planning, controlling and monitoring the policies and standards necessary to develop safe and efficient drinking water, wastewater collection, and stormwater drainage systems to support existing needs and future development growth.
Key functions of the Infrastructure Group are to:
Identify the drinking water, wastewater collection, and stormwater drainage infrastructure planning components of the Operating Budget, Five year Capital Plan and long term Infrastructure Planning.
Coordinating for the Engineering & Public Works Group the proposed Capital and Operating projects for inclusion in the City's Five Year Financial Plan.
Plan the necessary improvements to the City's drinking water, wastewater collection, and stormwater drainage systems to support existing needs and further growth.
Plan and prepare preliminary designs and cost estimates for all infrastructure improvement. This includes identifying property requirements, and environmental impacts associated with the proposed works.
Maintains and updates the Manual of Engineering Standards and Specifications (MoESS) and the City of Nanaimo Approved Products List.
